Last Post in 2008

It's been quite a year.

There's Blinky.

There's the finally-I-can-call-this-home.

There's A#, and along with him my sometimes-disastrous baking expeditions.

Two trips down to KL for weddings instead of one.
But it was worth it, for every single moment I had with Charis.
*sigh*

There's the hairdo. And some other stuff to be exposed next year....

Things have been more drama filled since I started Jabs.
It's truly been a different exciting ball game so far.

Spent the last 2 days with Mi and her family.
There was a lot of laughter at my expense just because I'm now at Jabs,
and abundance of good food.
I ate till my pants turned inside out at the waist!
I actually baked a cream cheese pound cake for her, but unfortunately like all my other cakes....the middle sank.
So I made do with just trimming the good parts for her.
Kakaka!

And then there was worship.
Looking forward, looking backward.
This past month and the month to come.
A time to die, a time to grow.

I'm looking forward to a new toy next month.
Hopefully Dad's super bargaining skills will get us the best price.
It will be an awesome start to 2009 if Clara will arrive within January.
Oh gosh, here I go naming it even before anything been made final!
And for once I'm going with a female name.
I'm so excited.
It's a huge investment, considering all my hard earned savings so far will go into it.
Take a guess what it is.

All in all, Happy New Year 2009 Everyone!

Baby Withdrawal 2

I miss her so much,
Even though it's been 5 days.
To have her in my arms,
Just that few hours was bliss.
At some point she just laid down her head on my shoulder,
content to cuddle in my arms.
Feels like I left my heart with her,
So far away.

Trip

It's nearly 1am and my bag isn't properly packed.
Hahaha, talk about last minute!

Odie kissed a spare wheel on Friday morning, really thank God not a scratch on the other party.
I'm leaving Odie at the service center early tomorrow for a plastic surgery and checkup. A huge skin graft on his main (bonnet).
He's getting a whole new skin, instead of stretching old skin back to shape while I'm burning a hole in my pocket for this.

I hope it doesn't rain so that they fix him up well and ready to go by Sunday.
Goldie and the bells will keep him company while I'm away.
But things just won't be the same again, I suppose.

I think I am but I don't feel like I am looking forward to tomorrow.
Maybe once I'm on the bus and really away from here.
Haha!

My hands are stiff, I sadly only managed to go 17 days without touching a keyboard. Sigh! Some things are just meant to be left to God.

Xmas event in Jabs

I haven't had time to upload pictures from Blinky.
Heck, it's been a hectic week.
Squeezing in 5 days work into 3 days.

Here's some from my trusted handphone.
Events in Jabs always have feasts to go with them.

Nice arrangements.

So many shapes of cookies.
Cakes all over the place.

They really took time to decorate the cakes!

I had no chance to bite into any of those.

I don't really care though, because all of the cakes are sponge-like.

It amazes me how much work it would require to make all that.

Skills and talents

Jabs been dealing me with a different ball game from the start.
And it's been fun learning all the new stuff.
Yet today, I discovered that the things I learnt back in school are within my grasps of going back to.
Maybe not now, but in the very near future.
I have a firm stand of certain knowledge I've picked up in the old place, where I had made it known I do not want to put them to waste here.
But when it comes to the things back in school..... it makes me wonder what falls into skills and talent.

skill–noun
1.the ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well

tal⋅ent–noun
1.a special natural ability or aptitude

2.a capacity for achievement or success; ability
3.a talented person
4.a group of persons with special ability
5.Movies and Television.

6.a power of mind or body considered as given to a person for use and improvement: so called from the parable in Matt. 25:14–30.

And am I willing to immerse myself in them again.
Where that is, is a pretty male dominated place.
Sometimes the things you enjoyed, in reality, in application, is very diversed from what is enjoyable.
I'll probably only decide when I'm forced to decide.

I have been dragged into being a percussionist for Jabs Xmas event.
Talk about irony. Especially when I can't even count to 4 consistently.
I think He just won't let me take a complete break away.
Bleah.

Neighbour

Today, a new neighbor move in on the opposite row.
2 loadful of trailer lorries.
My dad 'salute' the family, for it breaks his own record of one trailer lorry many years ago.
The 2 cars outside their house have Wilayah number plate.
I'm sure my dad will find out their background soon.

Seeing the 2 boys and a girl running in and out of their new house,
I'm excited, prayerful for them.
That they'll be able to settle down well.
New school and all.
Being young and innocent can sometimes be a good thing.
I'm sure it's a lot tougher on the parents.

But for myself, it brings a hard cold flashback feeling inside.
For remembering those first few months of not fitting in.
Of seeing all the familiar furnitures in unfamiliar rooms.
Of being uprooted from the comfort of a familiar place to another.

I'm reminded of the 'What-if' game I play so rarely because it only brings out the pointless emotional side of things.

...
On another note, today my dad brought up an ugly gossip about donuts.
I won't mention what it is, but the moment he started on donuts, he was doomed.
He heard it from a student who heard it from someone else.
Which means it's not a reliable statement.
Don't talk bad about my donuts.
Especially when you don't eat them.
Hmph.

Omelette cake

I'm an official cake failure.

Today I got ambitious and bought cream cheese.
Luck was on my side, as Xian came visiting and I had help mixing it up.

The problem was, I don't have a collapsible bottom cake pan.
So when the cake came out of A#,
I tried to flip it over on to a plate to put it in to the fridge to set.

I'm sure everyone knows that cheesecake can't stand up.
So the outcome was something looking like an omelette.
Yup, that was my dad's first impression.
Blinky's internal organs are still away, else I'd have taken a photo of it.

I'm so bad at cakes, I'd have to think twice before I do another one.
And I've got another piece of cream cheese in the fridge.
*sigh*

Tears

When push comes to shove,
Tears become a great destructive weapon.
Or an embarassing one,
Depending on your point of view.

*sigh*
I really hope I don't have to use them again. Ever.
I swear it wasn't intentional.
Though it worked it's magic, banishing all wickedness.
For now.

Day Off

For having been on-call for the weekend, we get a day off from the normal working days.
Unless we opt to replace it some other days, Monday is considered the auto-understood day off.

I slept in til 9.30am when my senior called to ask about some stuff I handled over the weekend.
But I secretly think she just enjoys disturbing me awake from my sleep as I couldn't go back to bed after that.

So, I intended to have another go at back-to-back movies making it 3 this time, consisting of Bolt,Igor and Twilight.
Unfortunately, Bolt isn't here yet!!!
And Igor had only like 4 screenings at Gurney today which didn't fit well with Twilight.
I ended up watching Igor, pronounced Ee-gor. And it's not the name of a character in the show. Go watch to figure that out.
It's a beautiful animated film.
I can't comment much because I was just there to distract myself from real life.

Anyway, I got exactly what I needed from both Prangin and Gurney today.
It's not often I make so many feel-right purchases in one day, maybe it's a post effect but no regrets.
I might even be able to get away with what I've purchased for CNY which would means a sort of long termed saving.

I bought my first ever Hello! magazine because the new US president and family was on the front cover.

The new wing in Gurney reminds me an itty bitty mini bit like Pavillion.
Maybe it's just the new-ness.
And all the beautiful Christmas decorations.
The angels outside Qmall are very beautiful, but Gurney wins hands down for interior decorations at the main stage place and new wing.
They have like hanging Christmas trees floating in the air, and the star for each Christmas tree is a very small Christmas tree.
Adorable.

I just realized that I didn't even go down to the basement to have a glimpse or smell of Aliens.

Pigs shall fly soon. Haha!
