Thoughts

"It's the last leg of the race."

That's what I keep telling myself.
There's eight more days to go before I say goodbye to support except for the New Year on call.
I'm dead tired staying late into the night everyday.
And cranky with the lack of food.
Irritable because I still think of work when I reach home and am in my bed.
Envious of people who are not on any fixed working hours anymore and could sleep all they want.

I wonder why I bother when everyone else has gone home and the air con is dead.
When the table fan is spinning on its own one day but not the next.
When a female toilet cubicle is semi open and I think I hear someone hiding in there while I'm in the next cubicle.

It boils down to this.
I love my job. I've loved it since He has put that love in me.
I don't know how many people can say so but I am one of those blessed ones.
I've loved it since the day I discovered the beauty of maps and 'trains'.
Even on those days where shit hits the fan and you just endure it.
Other days that are magnificent in their beauty of launching stuff with no issues.
Even right now when my work has increased exponentially with demands from my new boss, and because my old boss never cared on any issue we have but unfortunately we have a huge one now.
One that has like over eight thousand files waiting to be verified after 3 days of comparing and cutting it down from 70K.

"I want to end well."

Like the days where I have board games and I never win except that one time because people were far too lenient one day.
And if I am giving it my evil best, it is the contentment of having tried that keeps me playing again and again.

Despite the coming changes that will reduces how much the support does for the integrity of things.
Despite the bad attitude my old boss have started revealing to me now that I am technically no longer hers.
Despite my new boss and his 'over the top' expectations.

Then when the time comes, at least I know I've done my best.

~
Today was a public holiday.
So I woke up late (having been restless until 3am), watched tv and went back to bed.
That's all I could do. And this blog.
I haven't found the patience and effort to paint on those gorgeous nail polishes.
For I know tomorrow will be another long day.
