Nearer My God to Thee

I'm loving ThePianoGuys

I'm going to trust in Your calmness
Not by my own might or strength
But by that reassuring picture
Imprinted in my head from You
That is Your promise

Calmness

The voice is calm.
So calm I do not wish I could hear it.
But it is the only voice that calm the raging sea.
Psalms 89:8-9
Lord God Almighty, who is like you?
You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
You rule over the surging sea;
when its waves mount up, you still them.
Psalms 93:4
The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea

And that raging sea has no control whatsoever.
But to submit and obey that voice.

And this is all so ironic when you consider there is that science stuff about 'the calm before the storm.'
Storms need warm, moist air as fuel, and they typically draw that air in from the surrounding environment. Storms can draw in that air from all directions -- even from the direction in which the storm is traveling.
As the warm, moist air is pulled into a storm system, it leaves a low-pressure vacuum in its wake. The air travels up through the storm cloud and helps to fuel it. The updrafts in the storm, however, quickly carry the air upward, and when it reaches the top of the cloud mass, this warm moist air gets spit out at the top. This air is sent rolling out over the big, anvil-shaped head of the thunderclouds or the roiling arms of hurricanes. From there, the air descends -- drawn back toward lower altitudes by the very vacuum its departure created in the first place.
The descending air becomes warmer and drier (a good thing after its trip through the cloud, which involved cooling and condensation). Warm, dry air is relatively stable, and once it blankets a region, it stabilizes that air in turn. This causes the calm before a storm.
His calm versus the science of calmness.

Seed

A budding flower grows
And once it blooms
Produces its own seeds.
Seeds that scatters when its blown away
When lodged into ground
Spreads out roots.
Roots that feeds the seed
As the seed burst out shoot from the ground
A new season of life begins again.

I am nowhere where I once was
Neither here nor there
Still grasping for wisdom.
Wisdom gained through struggles
Seasons of ups and downs
That He is still not done with me.
Me that is all I can be
Not knowing how it will all end
But trusting where He leads.

What a night!

Things were looking really gloomy at the start of this week.
What with my hand and all.
I wasn't expecting GDOP worship to turn out so well.
I wasn't expecting this amount of fellowship in a week.
And how He turned my sorrows into joy this week.

Had dinner to celebrate an 18th birthday.
Had a seriously hilarious time.
And high from the sugar rush and tons of laughter, I did something I never imagined I could.

I pulled slave driver's ears!
I don't mean to be so excited and silly, but I am!!!

Feels like a wall broke down this week.
We've all been out three times in just one week and there's more to come!
Maybe this is just momentarily because he's changing jobs and I was kinda home all week.
Like meeting at an interchange.
But whatever it is, I'm grateful for the way things turn out.
For bravery in that early morning hour to speak out my heart.(#147)
For people like Vi that prayed.(#148)
For Him who loved me enough to know I needed all this.(#149)

Have Mercy O Lord....

God has exactly 2 days and 18 hours
to make things right again.

T_T
Because I might not take his words with a pinch of salt then,
and bursting out crying would be a darn mess.
But then again, He never works in our timing,
only His own.

Retribution

On one end, I can't tell them I'm hurt because I've caused more hurt.
On the other end, I can't tell the truth because I know it was stupid and foolish.
So in the end, this is what retribution looks like.

Stupid and foolish

Bruises and cuts don't lie.
They'd tell you a different story if they could.
The story where the main reason I fell is intact and not left out.

Feeling terrible for the scratchies I caused one of the Silencerts today.
As well as the story I had to spun to concerned relatives and my dad.

I now own an X ray to remember this day.

It could have been worst.
Could have knocked his head.
Could have been knocked by a car.
Could have made things unrepairable.

Could have been the deciding moment like I've told Him to be that moment.

But it wasn't any of those.
Not a single visible line.
And I am so relieved despite of the pain that I deserve.

Life goes on.
I'm still playing tomorrow.
Even if it kills me to do so.

Whirlwind

PHEW!
I'm pooped.
Seriously.

It's like a whirlwind when Ko comes back. Especially this time without the kids and he can run around faster.
Thankfully it was only for 3 freaking nights!
Ko tries to fit in as many people to meet in one day as he can and I to planned that out with the various locations for just one of those days. And one day alone was tiring!
He even made calls in the car to catch up with people while the driver is driving him from one place to another!
I'm sounding so familiar to what I was doing in Aussie. FETCHING HIM AROUND.
Except there are no naps in the car this time!

I get this sense of being shifted into the highest gear to accommodate his speed of..... needing to get this done, meet this and that when he's around. Like tasks after tasks in a game, with no time to waste and you can ticked 'Mission accomplished' if you made it in time.
What with our absurd speed limits here and the local traffic jams, we pretty much were behind schedule some of the time and I wasn't going to risk getting a ticket just for him!

Then there were the 26 boxes of GH biscuits he bought to bring home. Yup, an astounding 17 kilos.

Thanks to the brilliant packer of a sis-in-law I have, we manage to cut it down to 20 boxes by repacking them one box at a time.
And those went into this big box to checked in that showed up ORANGE and RED on the security scan in the airport.
The security went 'What do you have in your box?', being slightly suspicious before putting the security clearance sticker on as he explained.

And now it is time to catch up on my sleep after an early start going out before 5AM to drop him off with dad.

PISA

It is not about the one looking up, but about the One looking down at you.

I can't explain it when things fall into places the way you hoped they will turn out to be.
I can't explain the prediction that I will be stuck with two of the most silent people I know.
I wanted to go so bad that I blocked people from getting into their own house until they said yes.

And I was a tad upset when the prediction really happened.

But then there was the timing of seeing slave driver's car going under while mine was going up.
And then just a few sms-es later, there he was as well!
He's way better company than two Silencerts (yes, I am right now nicknaming the silent people as Silencerts).

I'll be on the other side waiting for you.
I said. To him getting through the tunnel with about 50 people welcoming us.
And those words strummed something deep.
Because isn't God on the other side of the tunnel for us?

So there we were now four.
We moved seats once, over to a better place some people abandoned.
It turns out I was then sitting on the right side and angle to watch Nana dance!

Which was a double triple yay! Like, mission accomplished!

I'm thankful that nothing was a coincidence today.
That (thankful #144) it was all in His timing .
If I wasn't fetching 2 Silencerts, I wouldn't have been at that speed or place to have seen the car.
And if we weren't waiting for slave driver, we wouldn't be seated where I could see Nana's every move.
And somewhere in between all that, (thankful #145) I saw all the people that matters to me.
As scattered as they are, they were all there.
Like we would all be someday in heaven.

Skittleils

A haul.
Back in February.
In the idle hours between reading, sleeping in the car, and taking walks around parks.
I got these.....

Hehe!
I've only covered 5 of them so far.
Looking forward to the day when I can get the magnetic polish on!

Which brings me to mention the highlight of today which is this awesomeness below!!!

Blue, Orange, Pink, Green, Purple and the Other way round!
I should have taken photos a week ago but I was busy and now my nails are growing out.
It's so much fun to show a 3 + 2 or 4 + 1 or vice versa and always get 5 different colors!!!
Do you see the color cycle?
Weee!!!
