Today I celebrate.....

168 Not having to visit the hospital anymore!!!
Or wear a dressing.
Except at the thought of a colleague absent mindlessly hitting me.
It would be good as protection then.

Though There's Pain In The Offering

Matt Redman spent seven weeks not strumming the guitar.

Found in Blessed Be Your Name, the book.
165 I'm finding so much comfort and strength from this book.

Oh, and awesomely enough apparently my stuff from Amazon arrived early in the US.
166 Can't wait to have them next month!

So where do you start when nicknames doesn't have the same ring to it any longer?
Where somehow age has lead you to a better understanding, a better tolerance.
How do you start admitting you were wrong when you know it is because of such a past you can see the light now?
God is ready whenever you are. Take a step closer.

What I had not posted about....

....is that my nice surgeon gave me 2 more days of leave.
So in some ways it was like this,
which is healing very nicely by the way,
got me to these.
Someone's going to freak out when I display these bottles.
=D

164 God's so in control.

Like, funny how I spent a month with a surgeon in February, using up my leaves and now here a surgeon gave me like 8 days or something.

And then, this one day trip wasn't impossible.
I forgot to set my alarm to wake me up at 5ish am.
Yet we got there in time for the first ferry.
We managed to catch a waterfall, a beach, a craft place, the cable car and Billion.
And had time to relax at some yacht club before heading back to the jetty.
Reached home around 11pm despite making the hugeeeee silly mistake of going til Gurun before finding the highway. I still find it funny that it didn't clicked in my head that Kuala Lumpur signage = highway.

No matter how much I've screwed up or suffered this last month,
His blessings has overflowed a thousand times over.
The laughter, memories and smiles outweighs the guilt, tears and pain.

Feb-aus

I realized I never look at the shots I took in February.
Even my yarns have been stored away without a further thought ever since.
Until now.

Pleasantries

Dragged a Silencert out yesterday.
I must have said the word 'TALK!' like a gazillion times to no effect.
Definitely a super human challenge there.

Bought CS Lewis' Problem of Pain and Matt + Beth Redman' Blessed Be Your Name.
Intend to get some serious reading done in the next couple of days.

Visited Gurney Paragon which is still under construction and has like about 6 restaurants opened at the moment.
Modern looking buildings constructed to surround an old heritage building of sort called St. Jo's.
Would love to see the stained glass windows someday, if they ever opened up the upstairs for visits.

Had some pretty good laughs watching Bad Girls.
It was in Mandarin.
A pretty good first time for me, once I learned to relax and listen rather than strain my eyes to catch the Malay subtitles.

~
162 I'm just thankful that a human being would go out with me when I need one to keep me from indulging in self pity.
163 And for the listening ears later at night with people that I can chat and be honest with about what's on my mind.

It's a daily struggle, but then if I could smile through this season who knows who I'm blessing with a smile, right?
Even if that is all I can offer everyday at the hospital.

It is well with my soul

Had a little mix up on the rooms this morning when I failed to mention to the receptionist that all I need was a dressing.
Thank God the nurse recognized me and cleared up the situation.
Made it back in time to serve Him.

Was visiting Big Bro and family.
Felt a certain contentment just playing Monopoly with the little one.
It's been ages since I played, so I just went along with any rules they had in mind.

There was this pang of déjà vu, followed by the bitter-sweetness of being amused that nothing has changed.
Yet everything else had changed in truth.
I can't recall what it is that struck me that hard, but somehow I carried that bitter-sweetness home.

It is good that this is all the emotions that welled up.
It's a relief to look at things matter factually.
To be able to see I've come so far by going back into the past.

Oh death, where is your sting?

So I survived.

Survived wearing a sarung and an absurdly thin piece of cloth.
Survived wearing only the above stated items and walking around as if being braless isn't a major issue in front of my dad. Thankfully he left like 5 minutes after I came out of the changing room.

What was a nightmare was waking up not knowing where I was or if it was done.
And crying HYSTERICALLY for no good logical reason.
I need to come with a warning tag next time.
One that says 'Forewarned: Hysterical when awaken. Please be cautious and sympathize.'

That was yesterday.
Today I woke up wondering if I'm really in my own home.
Even sensed that tension within that could burst into tears any minute provoked.
That was tough to handle.
The dressing change today was icky because they had to put like a ribbon of gauze into the slit.
And they'd be pulling that ribbon out tomorrow to put a new one in again.
That is not something to look forward to on a daily basis.

The hysteria state started fading off mid morning and I was pretty much myself all afternoon.
Except when I was friendly slapped at. Or hugged. I was worried then.
Had a great adventure filled afternoon that ends with God leaving a trolley with abandoned items in it where we could find and continued where we stopped off.*laughs hysterically at the last part*

Slave driver blamed a flu on me, but without Odie making a timely appearance today he wouldn't have known Odie was available to save the day.

158 I'm just thankful for so many things.
Like not having to see my after death scheduled post going up.

God heals, we help

In less than 5 hours.
I'd be there waiting for a surgery.

And I will be alright.
Because God is with me.

And onwards with my thankfuls;

Having a completely normal dinner and night out.
Great colleague.

Finding comfort in....

Life here on earth is not easy.  We are still on the battle ground of a perishing world awaiting the final call of Christ.  Our momentary problems are working out eternal ramifications. They are preparing us for royalty in a kingdom that will never end.  We are always  going to have struggles and pain, but we must never lose our focus for God’s is always with us on the path that he has prepared for our lives.

“Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.”

~C.S. Lewis~

Calls

(#150)
20minutes.
A record never imaginable.

(#151)
24minutes.
A gesture I can never repay.

(#152)
30minutes.
Just me, Clara and God.

(#153)
What if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if your healing comes through tears?

(#154)
And the things of the earth will go strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

(#155)
For letting me know I was wrong.
The raging seas calmed at His command, not any other striving or obedience made from mankind.
And definitely not bottled up.
