Sharing...

It bothers me that I haven't shared anything for years.
So here's a quickie.

I occasionally 'give up' spots to play the piano/keyboard when I'm doing the roster.
Not that I don't want to play, but it comes down to giving others that chance to play because there isn't enough to go around. Besides there's always next month to plan.
Like for June, since there was camp it came down to only 6 spots.
And since there was a wedding on another weekend, there was only 2 weekends I could make it.
So I just assigned one spot for myself and distributed the rest.
But God is good.
This month it is because one of the others had to have surgery and recovery time.
So I'm playing more than once and it delights me a lot, despite it being due to another's difficulty.

And this wasn't the first time it has happened.
Just when I think it's okay to let go and not play, something comes up and I get to play!

It's at times like this I'm reminded that God sees right into my heart and delights in giving me the desires of my heart.

As little as I think of myself, the more He thought of me.

I found this gospel singing of 'How can I keep from singing'.
It matches where I am in this reminder today.

My life goes on in endless song
above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
that hails a new creation.

Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear it's music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?

Oh though the tempest loudly roars,
I hear the truth, it liveth.
Oh though the darkness 'round me close,
Songs in the night it giveth.

No storm can shake my inmost calm,
While to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
How can I keep from singing?

When tyrants tremble in their fear
And hear their death knell ringing,
When friends rejoice both far and near
How can I keep from singing?

No storm can shake my inmost calm,
While to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
How can I keep from singing?

My life goes on in endless song
Above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
How can I keep from singing?

Lord, how can I keep from singing?
Oh, how can I keep from singing?

Best weekend of 2011 so far....

Been having a wonderful week starting from last Saturday.

Weekend highlight
Bitter gourd noodles.
Debating English statements with brother.
Stayed up til 4am on Saturday night since there was no morning service (all were away at camp).
Read recaps of kdramas.

Was so caught up in it like I was in my own world.
Slept in til 2pm Sunday afternoon.
Was in denial when someone mentioned they were already back from camp.
Stayed up late again for the same reasons as Monday was PH replacement.

It felt like I had escaped from everything for just that one weekend.
No drills, no worries, no forcing myself to wake up on time....
Was just awesomely splendid.

I'm so thankful to be able to find rest at home.

Weekday highlight
Marathoned X-Men and KF Panda 2 on Wednesday.
Watched Taekwondo tournament. It brought back goosebumps.
Had Boost.
Played Mozart on the Google logo, it transformed into guitar strings on Thursday in honor of Les Paul.
Stayed up til 2am on Thursday night to urm...finish kdramas.
Manicured.

And here I am. Finally.

Update...

I'm getting over my cold,
and it's finally June!
Weee!!!!

I'm loving Donald Miller's 'Blue like Jazz' right now.
He's awesome in taking issues by the horns, things no one wants to put into harsh writings about Christian living.
Thanks, Nana!
Books been a blast although I've slowed down tremendously due to my need to sleep and get well faster that way. Another 6 and a half to go!

I'm thankful for wisdom in ways I cannot comprehend today.

Sometimes I think if I took all the advices I give other people, I would be a so much better me.
But that in itself is another story, and the focus at that point is just that; 'other people'.
After all, not everything is about me, myself and I.

Words of the day.

Knowledge isn't power when you're not acting upon them.

Love is not a commodity.

I'm Tired

of having such a long bout of cough and flu.
of being mad at irrational personalities surrounding me.
of being idle a lot.

Am thankful that I've been able to work from home the past 3 days.
For books bought and borrowed the week before.
For Giotto (some amazing chocolates from Germany that outshines every other chocolates so far, I think I meant to say it's right at the top of my list of chocolates right now.).

Am thankful for friends who comes alive when I need the slightest hint He still cares.

Am thankful for reminders of my youth. Convent celebrated Teacher's day today and sparked quite a few memories.

Was remembering those Boyzone crazed days. I miss SG so much today. Nostalgia.
Went through some videos of him on youtube. Too bad he died at 33.

And thankful that May is almost over.
Freaking June can't just get here soon enough for me.
Looking forward to non-existent, non-planned holiday that will probably happen sometime between July til December. If I can wait that long. A timeframe is sort of a plan, I suppose. >.<

Looking forward to working in a new environment on Monday. NOT!
Construction dust filled environment that I've been avoiding all week.
'Open space' concept is just bleah. What happened to having some little privacy?
I suppose it also means I have to find some better crying spot of my own.

At the rate I'm going, I think I won't even pass 200 thankfuls in a year.
I need to be more thankful.
