Artistic expression

It's late and I ought to be asleep.
But here I am.

Finally met Syndy.
She's awesome!
They said 'No more strings', but it made me wonder in retort, 'Will you allow it?'

Sometimes we are so used to our comfort zone, used to the way a song is presented that we are not open to new ideas, new sounds. And in the end, artistic expression is stifled in the name of 'getting it right'.

What is right is nothing but an opinion, a belief, a conviction.
A self-centred arguement.

Somehow, it doesn't sit right with me tonight. And yes, I know that is my own opinion, belief and conviction.
Especially when it comes to worship songs.
Yes, the need to get the vocals, chords and timing tight make sense to get the song across.
That is why we have practices.
But if you break it down til the exact notes has to be the same as 'the original',  the sound has to be similar to what they are playing otherwise resort to strings instead, then I have a problem with that.

How do you call that worship if it becomes so centered in 'getting it right', that there's no space left to worship with your heart to your hands and expressing yourself not only vocally?
The focus that belongs to God is instead wasted more on 'getting it right'.
Yes, I have to admit everyone up there is multitasking.
We are all trying to play or sing correctly, to hear each other, to see hand signals and worship all at the same time.
And every one of those tasks takes a percentage of concentration to fulfill.
But what in the end is the point, the number one reason, other than to bring worship and to worship Him ourselves? Everything else fades in comparison to that.

That's just the way I see it.

I'm Enjoying...

Bruno Mars!

He's been around quite a while,
but I didn't realize some of the songs I'm recently fond of were his until like this week.

The Lazy Song.

Hurray!

Syndy's here!
As in already in church!
Waiting for me!

Woohoo!!

I'm not sure why but I keep calling her 'Baby Syndy' in my head.
Hahahaha! Yes, I'm totally excited!

And that burst of excitement made me just spent the last 4-5 hours sewing a new cover for her.
Thank God there was one piece of scrap cloth big enough for her.
I don't particularly like the design or color but it will have to do.
Unless someone else comes up with a better cover for her.

I'm liking the new fonts and background but it's not quite right yet.
Will be playing around a little more.

Night Randomness

It is now night and that area on the butt is killing me softly.
I'm resorting to pop some painkillers before I sleep.

On another hand, I just read some work emails and am happy to be involved for an Apple project that sent a warm glow inside on Friday when I was wishfully wanting it and it wasnt finalized yet.
God knows my heart's desire. *bliss*

And how about if I have my own A-Z in one night. If only to distract me from my back, because it's too early to sleep!

Yes, I am potong-ing stim.
I refuse to think more than that.
If you ask sweetly, I might explain a little more bout a few of them.
But I'm too lazy to type them all here. The lameness of some is a bit too much for this blog.

And I haven't posted two posts in a day for a very very very long time. Hah!

Body fall....

Full body falls are ugly.
The knock to my head could have been harder.
If it had been a harder fall, I might have stayed there for an hour before being found.
Instead, the only ache now is in a small area on the butt where it hit the floor first and my head which bumped slightly.

82. I'm thankful for body fat that provides cushioning.

Here's to good sleep to get over the shock and rid of the headache.
