Botanical Garden and Mengkuang Dam

It's funny how I find myself waking up early to go to these places but waking up late to work (almost) everyday. Botanical Garden on Thursday and Mengkuang Dam on Saturday morning.

Here are some of my favourite shots.
There's a monitor lizard sun bathing on the tree.
It's amazing how it blend in so well to the tree trunk that I even thought at first that my eyes were seeing things because it was really way up high.
It looked like it was part of the tree!
Here's a close up. (Thanks, Bee for letting me steal these, my hp cam couldn't possibly capture these clearness)

The rest of these shots are mine.

I was afraid of the monkeys in Botanical Garden for once. So, no pictures of them. I don't know why I was afraid. There was this tribe of monkeys (including a mother with her baby) coming down from some trees and I pretty much rushed Bee who was calmly taking pictures of the monkeys to get up on the main paths. All I could think of was the speed they could advanced onto us and how they can strategically surround us and.......ATTACK!!! Do monkeys know attack strategies? Why can't these monkeys just be cute and cuddly or something?

Next, Mengkuang Dam.
There was a few photographers with tripod (and 3 of them came in an MPV loaded with sport bikes....which makes me wonder what sort of photographers are they) taking shots there.
Which I couldn't stand! And more or less motivated me to go back to the car and get out my hp.
I'm not sure why all my shots with the sun in it turns out all dark and gloomy.
But I just love the reflection I manage to capture of even the clouds with this shot.
Shooting tips, anyone?

The major spread of stones more or less surrounding the dam.
I took a couple of shots of different stone colors I saw and the different textures too.
How are rocks made, I wonder?

My focus for this shot was how magnificent the branches rise up.
Sometimes I think I must be mad, seeing the beauty in my surroundings.
Even plain perspectives like below excites me.

Yay, there goes my first scenery post!

On a Sunday morning

In one accord, in unison.
The harmony, the blend.
Taking turns, taking lead.

The range, the chords.

Becoming alive.
The vocals, the sounds.

Spiraling into worship.

I don't ever want to leave that.

How could you?
Frustrated tears.
Screw ups.
Condemnation.
Cockroaches.

It takes patience.

It takes sacrifice.
It takes time to forgive oneself.
Most of all, it takes love.

Driving from BM.....

takes about 43 minutes to get to my workplace. I started out at 7.25am and reached the car park at 8.08am. The good news is I get to park quite close to the entrance, being this early and also because yesterday was Deepavali, so a lot of people take leave today in order to have a long weekend. Coming over the Penang Bridge there was a lot of cars and a little bottleneck right after the toll. Traffic was pretty slow moving on the bridge, but once I got into Bayan Lepas coastal road there was a big difference in the number of cars on the road.

I thought today was pretty fun although I had to wake up nearly 45 minutes earlier than I usually do if I was at my grandma's. The estimation of time, deciding what roads to take from my home, driving over the bridge in the morning, it was all a good experience in case there comes a time when I need to do that everyday. You never know. Even though the traffic is much much less than what a normal day will look like, at least now I have a picture of what it's like.

It's such a quiet day at work today.

Yesterday morning, I went to Botanical Gardens with my cousin. The pictures of that will be up soon (once she transfer/publish the pics so that I can steal some!). My hp cam is good on far shots but is pretty blur for close ups. And this below is food again. Not all went into my stomach, I swear!! Haha! I had to touch up a couple of them because of the low lighting at where I went for dinner. Actually, I brought my bro's camera there, but because there of the low lights, it auto flashes on my subjects, and well....basically I wasn't used to using the camera, so I went back to my hp cam instead.

food food food food......
I could have had another scoop of green tea ice cream actually...... =P

Yay, I did it!

Haha, I finally have the guts to change the background color of this template, and it works!!!

Do you know how hard is it to call yourself a 'programmer' yet be totally terrified to alter codes?
Reading is fine. I can explain or randomly guess what some codes are doing. It's the alteration to fit to your own needs that's a problem. And sometimes, doom can come with just forgetting a single
; !!

For example here, they have a template for you to compose. But there's no underline, no background color to highlight the text and the text size and font is limited. Once u start changing sizes or colors or fonts, (without having written everything already) strange things happen. And it's sometimes difficult to undo/alter without editing the HTML. I tried not to do any edit, but by the time I got to my 4th post where I copy pasted from my imeem account, I couldn't help myself. Because it wasn't appearing like it did in imeem!

And I thought blogging would be easy. Instead it is a sort of (forced) avenue for me to brush up on my HTML and CSS. This is suppose to be for pleasure after all, not to learn up codes that I might later on need to...... use in work. *sigh*

I got cake!

Yes, literally. But what I also meant is that it is not often that you get proof of being,

Greatly blessed, Highly favored, Deeply loved.

Like I do this last week or so.

I got a card all the way from Singapore. Though late, it arrived in time for my dad to bring over from BM on his weekly visit over here instead of waiting until I get back to BM itself. I am again surprised, because Vi had already wished me earlier on. Thanks, Vi!!

Later on, my cousin got me 2 pieces of cake!!
Thanks, Bee!! Haha, that totals the number of cake I've taken in the last one week at 6!!! Yeah, Ko will be proud. I've eaten enough cake for both of us!!!! Did you guys know, cheese cake can stick to the spoon so well even while you're driving and holding the spoon in one hand?

Anyway, the card and the cake made me reflect back on the 14 years in BM.
I still remember;
the first girl my standard I was introduced to/saw close up and more or less gave me the shock of my life because I thought all the girls in the school was going to be like that. Haha!
the ruler activated radio.
the first birthday party.
the ballet lesson.
the libraries.
the suppers.
the school cats.
the 'chikadees' Ah Kong always have.
the firecrackers.
the tong sampah that brought alot of laughter.
prayer meetings.
the make ups after years of drifting apart.
the forgiveness.
the beach.
CF camps.
Christmas celebrations.
a lot more that I can't list down here because some are way too embarassing and others makes me laugh non-stop and other more reasons.

Most of all, I remember all of you who have grown with me!

So how can I not am greatly blessed, highly favored and, deeply loved just reflecting on my past, the people and how much I've grown especially after Christ has set me free. I am saying what I think I'm saying. And it's a joy to say it. Haha!
