Climb every mountain....

Had an uber fun day yesterday being taken into the hills by my brother.
Heck, I screamed at him for leaving me lagging behind quite a couple of times while he bounced down the paths like a natural.
It was good to be with nature. And my Little Hearts sustained the hikes.
Surprisingly I'm not exhausted although he took me up 2 hills on opposite side of the valley.
And we were up pretty high cos my ear popped on the drive up.

Watched Oprah showing the 45th anniversary reunion of the cast of 'Sound of Music' on the first day of CNY.
I was pretty much squealling like a pig in front of the dumb box even though we were having visitors.
Most of the cast look so different than when they were young.
It brought back alot of fuzzy warm teary emotions.
I'm inspired to dig out the soundtrack album and listen to all their songs again.

Was really really really really really really blessed to have joined Mi and her family in their reunion dinner this year.
Went to a restaurant where courses were served.
Had crab claw for the first time since I took my braces off! Freaking finally!

Am so thankful to be integrated into 'one of them' so easily. (thankful no.66)
Even by the little ones.
They are my constant reminder of God's blessings and love upon me.

Random short notes again....

This is sadly turning into a weekly posting.

Had 2 nights of back-to-back Harry Potter movies episodes 1-4 to watch during the weekdays.
Obviously, I was late for work the next day.

Took an hour plus to iron my new blouse and suit.
Seems like the effort will not be repeated very often.
There was even some burnt markings on the blouse because I set the iron too high.

Am currently waiting for some hidrocloric asid to work it's magic into my bathroom floor.
Last minute floor-scrubbing.
It sure stinks.

Heck, I've just been summoned this late at night to take out some blown-out  light bulbs.

Can't wait for the holidays to begin!
Happy CNY!

One more Big Bird flying away

Icky little sadness swept in as one of my US seniors is officially announced to be leaving our team tonight.
I know it was coming, but still the official announcement hit a nerve.

I'm gonna miss the lameness that none of my colleagues here understands.
Miss that I can't whine and whine and whine because they were originally his stuff, his people, passed on to me.
His being my first set of enablements when I started in Sept 2008.
My first call to US, to a total stranger at that point,
freaking terrified I wouldn't understand what he had to say yet excited and ready at everything new back then.

The online arguments that would infuriate me or vice versa that we somehow always move on from.
Although there was one that took a whole week and a half for us to cool down. Haha.
And how strangely as time progresses they grow fewer.

How often, he's right about my behavior and advising how I should react to things.
And funny enough, my English teacher where ain't is a crime for being a redneck word.

This little bird feels like all the big birds have left the nest.
And left her with no one to lean on.
No big birds that is.

Random short notes..

~
Had a good laugh at Clinic Cafe when the stringe not only splashed out chilli sauce in gusto once, but twice.
Was just not bothered to complain due to banana-ness.
Surprised to find myself able to cope with 10 years younger 10cm taller age/height gap.
Yes, I'm that old.

Bought a suit and blouse on Saturday.
Can't wait to wear them despite the slight opposition in the house.
I'm old enough to have my own opinion.

Funny how you know you are over that teenage crush you had years ago when you can have a decent talk with him without turning gibberish or jelly inside.
And to find some close up weirdness as well, which would never had been realized looking from afar in the past.
I'm so much older now.

How time has flown.

~~

Made chips cookies today.
Weird but fun.
And that's all that matters.

~~~
The days of staying up til 3am this long weekend has finally catch up on me.
I'm gonna have to sleep early to be 'normal' again.
If I can stay away from Clara and log off soon, that is.
Thankful No. 65
I am thankful that despite how crazy busy this weekend has been,
I've managed to successfully have dinner with my dad tonight.
Successful being no emails, calls or pages disturbing us in that dinner time span.
I'm thankful that he wasn't upset to wait until 9pm for me to finally escape from work.
And also for enduring another 40minutes wait for the food at our usual eating store.
It is well with my soul to have gone through a weekend like this,
 with the important things in life preserved.
