This is the first of 4 on-calls for the year.
Silly me only slept at 4am, hence when the pager wouldn't stop ringing early in the morning while I was in bed.....my sleep was doomed.
It's rare that we have 9 pages in a row, rare-er still at such an hour and there I was wishing really really hard that my colleague would just resolve them ASAP before he went home without me getting out of bed before my weekend officially begin.
He did just that but in the end there was a wrong number a little later and I had to get up.
In between lunch and answering emails was trying to have a nap but it didn't really work out.
Sleep deprived me had to make due with a critical issue in the evening right before practice starts.
Which was annoying because I had intended, to go about borrowing another keyboard for practice although I'm not playing. And furthermore the critical issue had to be taken care of with the fullest attention to details.
Thankfully, somebody else brought us a substitute keyboard when I called for help.
Keyboard is just for now before Cody's successor comes in. It isn't easy to figure it out, because it didn't come borrowed with a manual. I suppose we are thankful for the keyboard in the meantime however.
But that meant I was also stuck in church after I resolved the critical issue, studying the user manual I find online and printing only the necessary parts.
Being busy and sleep deprived.
It's no wonder I've been speaking gibberish all day, I'm amazed there's people that can understand me.
Heck, I'm amazed if this post make sense when I am myself again.
I can only hope tomorrow is a quieter day than this one. And oh! for a good night sleep tonight when I'm done with the rest of the darn emails.

My Weekend (since Vi ask it that way...)
@
12:03 AM
Happenings in reverse mode. Thankfuls in the right order of numbering.
Thankful no.58 for San's driving because I was so tired after church today.
Met up with Lyin, said bye bye, and got pretty sweets before heading for some shopping.
Thankful no.59 - I was inspired today watching our young keyboardist playing the drums this afternoon.
That same awe effect that watching the orchestra in Aussie or jazz outdoor performance in Singapore produced, right in my own church.
Seeing how well she can catch on to the beats and improvising along the way, made me realise she's bolder then I give her credit for.
Hence, I'll bombard her with piano books and technics to practice on soon.
Despite being SPM year for her.
I guess that's it for him then.
I had a dream, everything was going to work itself out (thankful no.60).
Thankful no. 61 - Having a total blast after practice last night.
It was wicked going over to the island for dinner and enjoying the sea breeze til late.
Watched like 8 episodes of Nodame anime on Friday night.
Laughed hard alone at some scenes, remembering how it has been on the drama.
It was just the right cure after worrying about keyboards all afternoon and part of my evening.
Thankful for the right distraction. (no.64)
End of happenings recollection.
After a season of having a hard time finding things to be thankful for, its nice to be back in swing.

Muahahahahahahahahaha!
Odie's been dropped to the floor.

It was wicked going over to the island for dinner and enjoying the sea breeze til late.
But it was a memorable event, so early of 2011.
I'm such a bad influence.
First, I made her miss the 2nd set at the conference because we had McD ice cream.
And now she went along over to the island.
The first time, at such an hour, for the both of us.
All I did, was went 'Kia!!' jokingly when the question pop up.
It really really didn't occur to me that we'd really really go for it.
I momentary lost sight of everything else as we looked at each other,
and went 'You can bo?' almost simultaneously.
Yes, I was worried.
I've never done anything so out of the blue before.
Ok, fine. I might have done some out of the blue things before.
But not in terms of having an accomplice along for the ride.
This was a first.
Thank God her mum was cool about it. (no.62)
Can't say the same for my side, I'm thankful to have just been able to evade the interrogation and avoid lying. (no.63)
But I'm not the only bad influence around here if I wasn't the one who popped the random question, right?
Kakakakakakakaka!Watched like 8 episodes of Nodame anime on Friday night.

Old Cody
@
10:32 PM
Cody's retiring.
With his LCD display faded now til he's half blind, and him hanging himself half an hour into a session, it's time to get a new one.
He's been in GROW longer than I have.
Sadly, being at least 10 years old they no longer have parts of him.
Hence they can't fix his display even if they manage to fix the hanging.
He still produce such nice sounds despite his old age.
Or maybe we are so used to him, I can't imagine replicating his sounds on a new one.
I'm building up a slight frantic at the thought of all the Combi sounds in Cody that we'd have to say bye to.
Or rather we already said goodbye to.
If only there was a way to copy it out of Cody.
And I wonder if I will be capable of coming up with something like all that like the people before me did with Cody.
What a way to start the new year...

2 Weddings, A Funeral, and a Christmas Turkey
@
10:56 PM
This December,
Found myself at 2 weddings of old schoolmates, hence meeting up old schoolmates and the usual what-are-you-doing-now Q&A sessions.
Found myself at a wake for a TARCF-er's grandpa after Singapore, hence meeting up old TARCF-ers.
Which was spooky, considering our last meetup was also for a wake earlier on that happened after I came back from Aussie.
Found myself at Starbucks with an old UTAR-ian who came all the way from KL to introduce me to weight-loss plan, of all things and of all days on Christmas. At least I was treated to a green tea latte and watched pretty fireworks at midnight.
Found myself at a Christmas party, carving up the turkey for other guests of the host before my jam mates arrived, which was uber fun to carve and dissect of sort. And had to-die-for-chocolate cake.
The only bunch of peeps I haven't somehow bump into are the Hoppers, although one of them was at the conference if that counts.
54. I am thankful for the friendships that I have.
Though weird and uneasy as some of them are, the existence of that fine thread that links each human being together is woven by only His doing.
55. I am thankful for being inspired just by watching a jazz ensemble doing something as ordinary as a soundcheck.
56. I am thankful for the presents I received and gave, because I made awesome baskets of goodies for my girls, (hahahaha!) and they in return are such dearies.
57. I am thankful for the ultimate Gift.
2011 will be here in a couple of days!
