The rain is vain here.
It refuses to come out for long showers of time.
Always just taunting and tantalizing us with a glimpse of dark clouds.
Which then breaks out in spits and spurts that ends almost as soon as it has begun.
The months of letting the sun win is cruel to the land.
The heat burning away cells, drying up what moisture left from deep within the earth.
