Yeah, I think I just produced enough laughter in this last weekend to last me enough 'best medicine' for sometime.
What have I been up to?
Attended San's dance jam on Friday night.
I went with Jen. It was great watching people dance. But as the night went on, I got more and more anxious about the next day. How the dance workshop was going to work out for me. Worry worry worry......one comfort I found was in what Jen said, 'You just dance la'. Like it was nothing. And there's a truth to that. There's no need for deep thinking in everything. So then...
Attended dance workshop in GROW on Saturday. This is where all the laughing started......hahahahahaha...........can you imagine ME dancing? The problem was I couldn't. And I laughed and laughed because it was just madness to be there, to be doing the movements that was taught there. And I felt a tiny bit guilty for laughing so much, because what must the instructors be thinking? At one point the main instructor broke out laughing too.....but just once in all the many many times I broke out laughing.
It was cool though. At the beginning, the pastor reminded us that if we forget everything else there's only one thing we need to remember about that day.
How we danced that day, won't matter as much as who we are in Christ, something like that. And he's right. I went there to learn what's it's all about..... to be undignified.
There wasn't enough tamborines, so half of us were using plates as pretend tambourines (hahahahahaha, I swear some moves is applicable in washing plates in the kitchen!!!). And we were pretty much rushed through 8 or 9 different patterns. (Full Gospel, Acts, Gladness, Rejoice, Miriam, Full Rejoice, Ruler, I think I miss out one more). I was deliriously happy the first time we were ending a song because THE END IS NEAR. Hahahahahahahahaha!!!
The lesson that I learnt is:
It's a choice of letting yourself go. And maybe I didn't find it in the movements, but I think laughing did a big help of unleashing myself. And laughing is contagious. I think I have made people laugh more often at me for laughing then for whatever it was I am laughing about.
2 Samuel 6:22 And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight.
Worship CG and practice on Saturday nightThis is where I was hysterically laughing at everything I myself said because I was so tired after a full day of dance and then it's just full blown madness to continue on with practice for the next day because my focus was blurry, I swear the strength I have that night can only truly have come from God. I was aching all over, even my arms were so heavy to just keep practicing. And it ended later than usual.
Sunday service. It's amazing what a good night rest can do for ya. God's outpouring can never be described in enough words. Ta da!!!!!
I just realized at the end of writing all that down,
'Laughing Lohera' rhymes a little.
*laugh out loud*
